Decision 2018 Primary Election Coverage: Beverly Zimmerman

WGVU’s Decision 2018 Primary Election Coverage begins today as we hear from the candidates running for State legislature and United States Congress in the districts representing West Michigan.

Beverly Zimmerman is a current Holland, Michian resident and candidate for state representative in Michigan’s 89th District. She says, after being frustrated with the state of the Republican Party from top to bottom, she felt compelled to run for office to bring about real change.

“Hi, I’m Beverly Zimmerman, and I’m running for the State House of Representatives for the 89th District. I would like to see lower car insurance and tax freezes for citizens who are 65 and older on their property taxes. There are things that go on in other states that we can implement in Michigan. And I would like to see Michigan be the go to state and set the example in other states. Please vote for me on August 7th.”

Zimmerman faces Republican incumbent Jim Lilly in the August primary. Democrat Jerry Sias is running unopposed and has guaranteed a spot in the November general election.
