A former Michigan principal is accusing her school district of violating the Whistleblower Protection Act. After numerous appeals, the case is back in court.
Hartland Schools says Tracy Sahouri was demoted from principal to teacher because of misconduct in how she handled a state test.
But Sahouri says it’s because of several things she reported that were protected under the whistleblower act. Including, that the school asked her to improperly administer the MEAP test.
Sahouri’s attorney Tom Pabst says the school is trying to use her as a scapegoat.
“You know they used her to cover their own selves and they blamed her falsely and she called them out on it. It’s great courage on Tracy’s part to do this.”
Shaouri also claims she was fired for, among other things, reporting a bomb threat at the school. A claim, she says, is protected by the whistleblower act.
