One man was arrested on Sunday night following a standoff with police at a residence in Grand Rapids.

A Grand Rapids Police Department spokesperson says officers were dispatched at about 7:15 p.m. to the 200 block of Orchard Hill Southeast by the brother of a 61-year-old male, who reported hearing three gunshots from the suspect’s bedroom.

The suspect then allegedly pointed his handgun at his brother, who said he heard another gunshot after he fled the house.

Officers reportedly barricaded the area, and attempted to make contact with the suspect for more than an hour.

The GRPD spokesperson says the man surrendered to police without incident, and no injuries were reported.

The department's Major Case Team is investigating.
