MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - The ferry connecting Wisconsin and Michigan has received an overhaul in anticipation of its 13th season. MLive.com reports that Lake Express' 12-year-old ship had its bridge and command center overhauled in the offseason, improving its radar and navigation capabilities. The Lake Express crosses Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Muskegon, Michigan. The trip at about 40 mph takes about 2 1/2 hours. The ferry will make two trips per day through June 14, then up the number of trips to three through Sept. 5. The ferry can hold 250 passengers and 46 cars for each passage across the lake. Lake Express will make its first trip of 2016 on Friday.
