Police: 4 injured in fight during service at Sikh temple

Police say a fight during a service at a Sikh temple in southwestern Michigan has left four people injured.

Police in Portage say they responded Sunday afternoon after dispatchers received reports of the fight. In a statement, police say four people were taken from the Sikh Temple by ambulance for treatment of injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

Police seized two swords as possible evidence.

Sgt. Bryan Mayhew tells the Kalamazoo Gazette that no arrests were made at the scene. The fight and what prompted it are under investigation. WWMT-TV reports the fight may have started when some visitors weren't allowed to participate in the service.

Raj Kaur witnessed the fight and says it shouldn't have happened. She says: "we are very peaceful people and we were doing a peaceful prayer."
