A series of community meetings seeking feedback on Grand Rapids policing begin on Tuesday.

The meetings are split up by Grand Rapids Police Department geographical service areas, with one for each of the city’s four directional quadrants.

Officials say the meetings will focus on community priorities and how those fit into GRPD goals and a new department mission statement.

It begins Tuesday with a west side Service Area Meeting at Rockford Construction Company on First Street at 6 p.m.

A second meeting will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at LINC Community Revitalization.

The city’s North and East quadrants host community meetings next Wednesday and Thursday respectively, both at 7 p.m.

More information is at GRCity.us.

An email account has also been set up to receive input and feedback.

You can email the department at GRPDMissionStatement@grcity.us.
