The University of Michigan's Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design plans to open a new gallery space in downtown Ann Arbor this winter.
The Stamps Gallery on the first floor of the McKinley Towne Center will house rotating exhibitions of contemporary art and design, including work by Stamps students and faculty.
Guna Nadarajan, dean of the Stamps School of Art & Design, says in a statement the new gallery "offers us a larger and more expansive space to support more ambitious exhibition and curatorial programs."
With nearly 8,000 square feet of exhibition space, the Stamps Gallery replaces the Work Gallery and the Slusser Gallery.
The Stamps School of Art & Design exhibition program will be on hiatus this fall as the Stamps Gallery undergoes renovation.
