Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump courted African-American voters in a visit Saturday to a Detroit church. He called for a civil rights agenda for the '21st Century' and said there are still injustices that need to be addressed.

Trump said he wants to unite the country, and promised to listen to the concerns of all Americans.

"I’m here today to learn, so that together we can remedy injustice in any form," he said, "and so that we can also remedy economics, so that the African-American community can benefit economically."

Trump came under intense criticism earlier in the campaign after he said African-Americans have nothing to lose by supporting him.

There was no evidence of the fiery and often-intemperate candidate in his remarks to the Greater Faith Ministries International congregation.

"I want to make America prosperous for everyone. I want to make this city the economic envy of the world," Trump said. "We can do that. We can do that again."

After the service, Trump toured a Detroit neighborhood with former rival Doctor Ben Carson.

He also told The Detroit News he will return to Michigan soon to visit Flint.
