Police in Benton Harbor have released a video that shows officers were scrambling to dodge bullets before a man was killed in a shootout. Police say Darius Wimberly had two guns when he shot at officers early Tuesday.

The 28-year-old was killed.

The video shows Benton Harbor officers outside a house to investigate a report of someone being held at gunpoint.

There was no incident, but then shots were suddenly fired by someone nearby.

The video and audio shows an officer uttering a profanity and running as more shots were exchanged.

The video released by Benton Harbor's public safety department lasts less than 2 minutes. Meanwhile, Mayor Marcus Muhammad is urging the public to be calm.

He says "danger can come out of anger when not checked."
