President Donald Trump trained his fire on members of his own party Thursday, declaring in the aftermath of the Republican's failed health care push that the conservative Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire GOP agenda. He vowed to "fight them" in 2018 if they don't get behind him.

President Dwight Eisenhower's granddaughter will visit Michigan next month to mark what would have been the 99th birthday of first lady Betty Ford.

The Gerald Ford Presidential Foundation says Mary Jean Eisenhower will be the featured speaker during the group's annual America's First Ladies: An Enduring Legacy luncheon on April 11 in Grand Rapids.

President Gerald Ford and Betty Ford's daughter, Susan Ford Bales, will participate in the event.

The International Baccalaureate Schools of Michigan recently held its Spring Symposium at Grand Valley State University’s Eberhard Center. WGVU asked about the IB program and if the new U.S. Department of Education secretary supports its standards?

The mission statement of the International Baccalaureate programme is “better world through education.” Its essence is to become a lifelong learner.


Dubbed the largest, most advanced data center campus in the eastern United States, the former Gaines Township Steelcase Pyramid has been transformed into the Switch Pyramid data center and it’s now open for business.

The first phase of the renovation is complete at the Switch Pyramid in Gaines Township providing 225,000 square feet of data center space. Over the next 10 years the build out will deliver a 1.8 million-square-foot data center campus.

ArtPrize recently released the results from its 2016 Cultural, Social and Economic Impact report and 8th Annual ArtPrize. 

ArtPrize organizers say over the 19-day event in 2016 drew a half million visitors to downtown Grand Rapids.

Lansing-based economics research and consulting firm, Anderson Economic Group, conducted surveys indicating visitors represented all 50 states and arrived from 47 countries. The data shows visitors are traveling greater distances to ArtPrize venues. The impact study reveals “63% of visitors traveling more than 30 miles to attend the event.”

  Mayor Rosalynn Bliss wants to start an education program for immigrants who move to Grand Rapids. Bliss announced her plan during Thursday's State of the City address.

Bliss told reporters that Grand Rapids needs "to provide a safe place for people to come together to not only learn how to connect with local government, but how to receive services and also how to get engaged."

She hopes to launch the program within the next two months.
