Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is once again noted in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Children’s Hospital rankings. The 2017 ranking includes a total of six specialty areas being recognized.
This is the sixth year that Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and as you could imagine, Hospital President, Dr. Bob Connors is very pleased.
“Anytime you have an organization like U.S. News and World Report look at you and how you’re doing and your outcomes and your processes and they come back and say you’re among the best children’s hospitals across the country that is good news.”
This week 2017-18 Best Children’s Hospitals ranking were published online by U.S. News & World Report. And Helen DeVos Children’s hospital was ranked best nationally in six categories, including Pediatrics: Cancer, Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Urology.
Dr. Connors credits his team.
“Part of who we are is to be very good teammates with each other and that includes having great physicians here, great nurses and other specialists, all the technicians, right down to the people that clean our rooms and make our food, we really have to be one, big very, very good team to give that kind of care to our patients.”
The U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals ranks the top 50 pediatric facilities across the U-S.
But receiving this honor doesn’t mean the hard work stops… Dr. Connors says they’ve got big plans for the future.
“We’re working on exciting new areas, like neuro sciences, all the neurology and neuro-surgery that we’re working on. Even the great programs that are ranked now are going to continue to get better. The way that I think about it is, this is a very, very fine children’s hospital, next year it’s going to be even better.”
