Police: Western Michigan car fire started to mask homicide

Authorities in western Michigan are investigating a homicide that a man tried to cover up by setting the victim's body and a car on fire.

Grand Rapids police say Ottawa County sheriff's deputies found the body inside the burning car Monday morning along Interstate 96.

A man walking in the area was arrested and eventually told investigators he and the victim argued earlier in Grand Rapids before the slaying.

The body was then driven to Ottawa County where the fire was started.

The names of the victim and suspect were not immediately released.
