EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan State University researcher has been awarded $4.2 million in grants to help in his work to improve the healing process of fractured bones.
The East Lansing school announced Monday that Kurt Hankenson, a veterinary scientist and expert in bone regeneration, is getting funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense.
Some fractured bones never heal properly. Hankenson says in a statement that he's seeking to identify different ways of "helping the body heal at any age."
